Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
I hope you are all ready to spend time with loved ones!
I did not have an October Newsletter this year. I started a new job and have kind of put crocheting off to the side a bit. So this blog post will be a little substitute for that.
I enjoyed a work from home day today and felt stress free (probably because I'm not hosting this year) but it was fun to just enjoy the day of crocheting, running a couple of errands and feeling the holiday spirit appear. Like this one guy who works at my local Walgreens, who usually appears serious, not one for small talk. Well I stopped in today and heard him over the PA in such a fun voice calling for another employee and when I went to check out he seemed friendlier and I told him I thought his announcement was fun and it was nice to see him smile.
It's also a big shopping weekend, with Pre-Black Friday Sales, Black Friday Sales, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday. I remember going Black Friday Shopping with family and it use to be fun! After dinner on Thanksgiving we would check the sales ad and make plans to meet up the next morning early for coffee, desserts and head out to the stores. I usually didn't have anything I needed to buy but it was fun just to hang out with family and be part of the craziness of Black Friday. Since they've been pushing the deals earlier and earlier it hasn't been fun. However, my daughter wants to get up early and check it out. So we plan to go to a local shopping center at 6 am and see what the excitement is all about and if we find a good deal, we'll take it! Then it's off to see Frozen 2 and lunch and chill time afterwards. Fun and stress free! Of course chill time for me will be crocheting! And I have a lot of projects I'm working on!
I have patterns I'm currently working on and I've created some new finished items that are in my Etsy Shop, plus I'm working on another fun item that will be added soon.
If you haven't stopped by my shop recently I have updated with some new items, Om Hanging Diffusers and Om Key Chains. I came up with a simple design and asked a friend what I should name it. She came up with the name Om because I like to meditate. I previously had Om Wall Hangings but have revamped the design a bit and am looking at another yarn and beads to create a trial and see how I like my vision. Watch for sneak peeks of that in December.
For now, I have my current patterns and Om finished items available on Etsy and I've joined the Holiday Sale! Everything in my shop is 25% off until 12/4. No coupon needed. So whether you want to purchase a pattern to make your own gifts to give or buy an Om Diffuser or Key Chain and give a unique little gift, they are all on sale! You can find them at https://www.etsy.com/shop/JSoDetCrochet
That's all for now. I hope you all have a Wonderful Holiday!
